I previously blogged about how I made some CDs for a mix exchange not too long ago, but my mix buddy’s CD arrived in the mail on Friday! Since I was volunteering at TCAF all weekend, this morning was the first time I actually got a chance to listen to it . . . and it rocks!
Some pictures of the CD I received* . . .
In case you can’t read it, this is the track listing:
Chasing Pirates – Norah Jones
Bottle of Blues – Beck
Skinned – Blind Melon
Big Dipper – Built to Spill
Ugly Girl – Fleming and John
Jolene – Dolly Parton
I Think I’m Going To Kill Myself – Elton John
Anecdote – Ambulance Ltd.
Briser Un Couer – Ariane Moffatt**
The DJ’s Got A Gun – Robots in Disguise
15 Steps – Radiohead
Boy From School – Hot Chip
La Nuit – Robots in Disguise
Hide and Seek – Imogen Heap
Puzzle – Lou Barlow***
Two Headed Boy – Neutral Milk Hot
My Drag – Squirrel Nut Zippers
I Love You (More Than Words) – Otis Redding****
Summer in the City – Regina Spektor
Pretty and High – The Roches
For interested parties, I made an approximate copy of the mix you can listen to here. As is the case with my other mixes, there were a couple of songs I couldn’t find, so I subbed the best I could. Plus, Playlist.Com apparently thought the name of the Norah Jones song was Chasing Pandas. Go figure!
Anyway, much thanks to the lovely Jacqueline of Perchance Happiness for the mix! She got me to listen to (and actually like) Dolly Parton which is definitely a first!
*I did not take these pictures. They are from this post on Jacqueline’s site.
** Replaced with “Montreal” by Ariane Moffatt.
*** Replaced with “Holding Back the Year” by Lou Barlow.
**** Replaced with “Dreams to Remember” by Otis Redding. FYI, if you are ever making a lazy summer mix to throw on while you are drinking sangria on a deck or patio in the summer, Otis’ “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” is legally required to be on it. Just thought I would warn you so you didn’t break any laws.
