I am not in a good mood today. Part of it is because I am tired, but part of it is because I have been dealing with a Customer Service issue all morning. I am the Customer in this scenario and the fact that I am the one trying to resolve it is part of the reason I’m so pissed.
Okay, so back in January, after we found out that Smee was going to be a girl, I got present crazy and decided to buy some stuff online for the baby shower. It seemed like perfect timing because Threadless was having a sale, so I ordered a bunch of cute onesies from them because:
a) I make very little at my job so saving a bit of dough is awesome,
b) A lot of my mom friends have extolled the virtues of practicality over prettiness when it comes to early baby gifts.
Anyway, I place my order on January 3 and I wait. And I wait. And I wait some more. And so then it’s been three weeks so I run my order number through their system and nothing comes up. I mean nothing. There is no record that I even placed the order to begin with.
So I e-mail. I receive a response a day or so later telling me that after some digging, they found my order. It shipped on January 6th but probably got held up in Customs or something so I should sit tight.
I wait again, this time about three weeks as well. I e-mail again. I’m told that, in spite of the fact that they run a MAIL ORDER business, they don’t put tracking numbers on anything so I should call Canada Post and get them to look for it.
Since it is now apparently my responsibility to track the package down, I call Canada Post. I tell them what Threadless told me and they’re like “Yeah, that’s not the case at all. You need a tracking number.” So I figure I’ll check my local post offices just to be safe. I call the 6 closest post offices and none of them can find it.
E-mailed ’em again. No response.
So yeah, at this point, totally unimpressed with the lackadaisical buck passing that seems to be going on over at Threadless headquarters. I wouldn’t have even been so annoyed about it getting delayed if they could just tell me where it is. But instead, I gave ’em $65 and they gave me nothing.
I called my credit card company this morning to dispute the charge with them. If I get even part of my money back, I’ll feel vindicated. As it is, I will never order anything from Threadless again.
(In other news Tee Fury remains awesome! So at least there’s that.)
