A while ago, Boy and I were in the supermarket picking up groceries when he picked up a box of instant mashed potatoes with a thoughtful look on his face.
“Mashed potatoes that fascinating?” I asked as I continued to scour the dry goods.
He shook his head. “Well, not the mashed potatoes themselves, but I was just wondering, since you have to add milk to them anyway, what they would taste like if you added chocolate milk instead.”
Since he brought this up, we’ve had many conversations about this. Personally, I think it’s a good way to ruin two good things by combining them together in one culinary mess and something I would only eat if it were necessary for my survival, but Boy is still intrigued and believes that it would be a delicious triumph if it worked. However, as he has eaten cookies his old roommate made using the fridge box of baking soda, I’m not sure I trust his taste buds. 😛
What say you, eating audience? Would you try the crazy mashed potatoes of your own volition or would a nuclear holocaust situation be required for them to be an edible option?
