I work in an office and, oftentimes, because I don’t really cook, I buy my lunch. Sometimes, this is okay, but the problem is that I work near a McDonald’s and the second I step out of my building, I am hit with the siren smell of their french fries. And more times than I would like to admit, it has drawn me over there for a Big Mac or a Double Cheeseburger.
Unfortunately, now that I am in my mid-to-late twenties, when I eat that kind of food too regularly, I feel the subsequent grossness of it. Boy calls it the McDonald’s Mistake Pain, where while you’re eating it, it is all good but like an hour later, it makes you kind of want to kill yourself with the stomachache/acid reflux pain.
So my new plan is to make more of an effort to eat properly. Vegetables. Fruits. Dairy products. I don’t care about losing weight or anything like that, I just want to eat good stuff that doesn’t make me feel horrible afterwards. And I figure that it should help me to stave off the flabby little abs of cheese that can hit us desk jockeys sometimes.
Today’s lunch was a salad. Let’s see if I can hold out and eat healthy the rest of the week.
Is anyone else out there taking a healthier tact this year? What are you doing to keep yourself feeling better?
