So I spent the rest of the week after my job rejection just feeling kind of sad about being rejected by the major book conglomerate people, but today, I got back in the saddle and applied for a gig with cute children’s publisher.
I interviewed with them for a kind of admin-y job around this time last year and didn’t end up landing it because they said I had too much experience for it, but this new job plays well to my strengths and experiences and I think I could really do it well.
The only thing is that, while it is totally with a company I’d be dying to work for, it’s a six month contract gig which sucks a little bit because there would be no guaranteed stability and I would no longer have any health insurance which might be a little tricky since Boy is essentially a freelancer and any insurance is through me.
Anyway, in this crazy economic climate, I’ve got to start somewhere, right? Cross your fingers for a callback, readers!
