A lot of people are doing this and frankly, I need a kick in the ass to jump start me lately, so I’m posting my list here to be held accountable for my goals. It’s just the beginning, so I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m hopeful I will get as many of these list items accomplished as possible.
So, without further ado, here’s the official deal:
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Great list! If you wind up organizing an online book group, I’d be interested in joining. I’ve been in 2 in-person groups over the last few years, and they were fun but they both got to the point where it was 100% gossip/chatting and 0% book talk
#45!! Glad we could help you scratch that one off your list.
Great blog btw J…High Fidelity is one of my favourite movies of all times!
You auditioned for the Scott Pilgrim movie? SO COOL. I adore those books! I’m sorry, I appear to be your new creepy stalker. I’ll stop now.
